I’ve has my iPad for a month now and I’ll try to review it for you.
The reasons why I got my iPad are:
- I’ve had an iPhone 3GS for some time
- I’ve always wanted to have a tablet PC, but they were way too expensive before then
- I turned 30 :)
Before any computer/electronic/gadget purchase, I do a list of what I want to do with it and then fills a pros and cons to see if it is worth investing. Being away sometime for work, and commuting by train for more than one hour daily, my list was:
- Being able to read/answer emails
- Being able to check websites
- Being able to watch videos/ listen to music comfortably
- Being able to do so everywhere (3G version mandatory)
- Being able to use Skype when remote
- Being able to read books/pdf
By reading this list, most of the people will say, that you can do the same thing with an iPhone and I agree (that’s why I got mine :))
On the minus side of the iPhone
- The really tiny battery (I’m happy when I have 25% battery left at the end of the day)
- The really tiny screen (I’ve watched lots of Mythbusters and read two full books on it)
So what did I choose one ? First of all, the iPhone is not mine, I got it from my job. Second, I’ve had headaches and bloody eyes on such a tiny screen. Third of all, I wanted to come home and not use my main computer, which is not really realistic with the iPhone. And more importantly, I turned 30 (did I mention it already?)
Hence the reason I got my iPad 16 Gb Wifi + 3G.
